After Jesus' Resurrection, many of His followers begin to discuss Jesus' life and wondered if what they believed about Him was actually true. Rumors were escalating that Jesus was dead and His miracles of healing were a myth. The Gospels of Matthew and Mark end with Jesus' Resurrection; however, the Gospels of Luke and John go into great detail describing life after Jesus' Resurrection.
In particular, there is the story of the disciple Thomas who doubted that Jesus was alive. Thomas said to the other disciples, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe" (John 20:25). Guess what, Jesus appeared to Thomas, put his finger in His side and Thomas believed.
Another interesting story is in the Gospel of Luke when Jesus mysteriously walked along side His disciples on the road of Emmaus, and Jesus taught them insights about the word and life. They didnt realize later after their eyes were opened that it was Jesus along side them (Luke 24:13).
Today, I pray that Jesus' presence, power, and peace becomes alive in you and that He reveals Himself to you in a deeper way. I pray that you will fully understand Jesus' Resurrection, and the benefits you have because of Jesus' blood shed for you on Calvary.
Take a few moments and write out 10 benefits of the blood of Jesus. It will help you to appreciate your life. Jesus came for you to have life and have it more abundantly, according to John 10:10.
